Million-dollar machine weighs nearly 90 tons, and will reach 12 stories high.
Syracuse, NY - Bianchi Industrial Services, a nationally renowned contractor that specializes in environmental remediation, demolition, and whole-building recycling projects throughout the United States has purchased a new machine with a lot of guts to do its dirty work in the days ahead. The new hydraulic excavator – which weighs nearly 90 tons and reaches 12 stories high – will be unveiled at Tracey Road Equipment in East Syracuse Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 pm.
It's a little difficult to keep this bad boy under wraps, however.
Bianchi will be the first demolition company in the United States to use the Kobelco SK850 for demolition work. Its size and weight require that it be broken down onto six (6) tractor trailer loads and that a briefcase full of permits is secured to move it anywhere. Private escorts as well as local law enforcement officials are needed wherever the machine, which cost more than $1 million, travels.
The machine is so large that the primary attachment Bianchi will use for its demolition work, a LaBounty UP90, weighs nearly 17,000 pounds all by itself. The first job for the new machine is expected to be in Scranton, PA, where Bianchi is tearing down a municipal parking garage.
Originally established in 1950 as a local demolition company, Bianchi Industrial Services remains a family-owned business with national reach, providing a full range of environmental abatement and whole-building recycling services to clients in nearly 20 states. The company owns a large fleet of specialty demolition equipment, including ultra-high reach hydraulic excavators. Bianchi has worked on large projects for chemical and pharmaceutical manufacturers, power and cogeneration facilities, paper plants, aerospace facilities, warehouses, schools, retail locations, sporting arenas and hospitals. Bianchi maintains one of the best safety records in the industry. For more information on Bianchi, visit www.bianchidemo.com . |
